Barnsley Young People’s Health Survey 2006
A survey about the health and lifestyles of Year 10 pupils attening secondary school in barnsley 2006
The Barnsley Young People’s Health Survey is a unique survey that identifies the health needs and behaviours of 14 and 15 year olds across Barnsley. The report and accompanying analysis has been produced by the Barnsley Public Health directorate. The research was commissioned and supported by the Barnsley Children and Young People’s Partnership Board.
Lifestyle and health behaviours of young people are of current interest across a number of strategic and operational groups. Increasingly there is a requirement to be able to assess needs at a local level and also determine if interventions have been effective locally. It is intended that the survey results are used to inform decision making and joint action by services across the Borough.
We are sure that everyone working with children and young people, parents and young people themselves will find the information contained in this report to be interesting.

Want to know the life expectancy of a Barnsley female is, how many decayed teeth our 5 year olds have or what the main causes of preventable deaths are across the borough?
The Barnsley Health Equity Audit 03/04 is currently the most up to date published document that can answer these questions. We will be updating these figures on a regular basis and will be publishing them on this page in spring 2006.
